Friday Favorites: Because Everyone's Doing It

Here are a few favorite things from the week.

This Video: Corgi puppy playing with a pumpkin. It's so adorable!

This Recipe: POTATO SOUP
It got chilly in Atlanta this week, so I decided it was time to make potato soup for dinner with E & J one night.

This Photo: Glamping Baby shower I threw for my Sister - more on this later. (Sorry just had to share!)

This Laugh: Mom emailed a ton of these this week!

I recently ordered two new make-up brushes from Ulta and got a few goodies in the box! I love freebies but a lot of times they aren't anything I'm interested in right now (maybe at 24 I should be trying anti-aging creams or over-night repair serums, but I'm not). Ulta, however, sent one of my new favorite products. When I travel, I generally take one-three nail polishes with me, on the off chance that I'll have time to let my nails dry long enough not to smudge. But I hate packing liquid nail polish remover because it takes up some room, smells, bad. I was a little skeptical as to if one little scrubber pad would really remove the nail polish off all 10 nails. Normally I have to use a few cotton rounds, so like I said, I was REALLY skeptical.

Y'all, these things work! ONE SCRUBBER for ALL 10 NAILS!!! I couldn't believe it didn't go dry or tear. Granted I didn't have on a dark polish, but I did have on a bottom coat, a few color coats, and a top coat - it all came off! They come in a box of 10/$10 but I use top/bottom coats to help my polish last so this seems like a great deal to me. And for traveling purposes they're perfect - YES, thank you Ulta!!

Featured: Two Apps to Never Shop Without

Lets be honest, we all have a dream closet board. But do you often forget things you've pinned when you go shopping? Pinterest is available for iPhones & iPads so you can take it with you when you shop your favorite stores. Also, don't forget to look in your closet to see if you already have pieces to make your Pinterest outfits. Check out Sheaffer's Blog for examples on looking in your closet after looking at Pinterest. She inspired me to really look at the clothes in my closet & I realized some of my pinned outfits were already there!

Speaking of your closet, how would you like to take your closet shopping with you?!?! With the StyleBook App you can!
I'm obsessed with this app! No seriously, I am. Its addicting to add your own clothes and create outfits. Put your clothes into outfits that look like they came from Pinterest or Polyvore. It allows you keep track of each item in your wardrobe, add inspirational looks, and track which outfits you wore every day! You can even search your favorite brands, and shop through the app!

When I go shopping, I look at my Pinterest board for inspiration and then look at my StyleBook closet to see what pieces I'm missing. I've been able to create many Pinterest outfits using these apps & inspiration from the blog mentioned above.

Happy Shopping :-)

Featured: Hunter Boots

I just had to do a post on my Hunters. They are my babies. If I could wear them all day every day I would and I'd even wear them in my sleep! My sister turned me on to these because of their color. Tiffany blue/green is MY color. I think everyone needs a signature color, or two, or three. (Remember my pink on pink on purple post?) As excited as I was when she emailed the link to me, I was way less excited when I couldn't find them anywhere in America - which she had warned me about. So I found a company in Europe ( and got on their email list and waited. A few months later I woke up to an email with 25% off code inside. I couldn't contain my excitement! And the day they came in was like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one! My babies had arrived safely and more perfect than I could have imagined!

Shorts: Pink Umbro
Shirt: Pink and white stripes
Shoes: Purple shine platform converse look-a-likes.

What?!? Who was I. A girl who LOVED (loves) pink and purple. Just maybe not combined like this anymore.

Can we talk about my fanny pack. It is red striped with a cute little girl's head on it. I still have this somewhere. The contents - wallet, disposable camera, chapstick and probably my contact information in case I got lost. Thanks Dad and Mom. And that hat. Burn it. HaHa.

We were at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in front of Mark McGuire's uniform. I love baseball. My siblings are probably thanking me for cropping them out this week! haha
