February 2019 Goals + Recap
I didn’t write too many big goals this month as my main focus was to get back to my basic content framework. (Not sure what I’m talking about? Read this post.) I did have something big come up this month I wasn’t expecting so that threw me for a bit of a loop too, but now that I’m looking at the month in review, I did accomplish some of what I set out to do!
Content
My plan had been to publish at least two blogs in February and I actually published three! I’ll call that a big success!! It felt really great to get back to blogging and I’m planning to keep it up. At least one more blog will be published this month! As far as my email list, I checked that off twice too. See? I did accomplish what I set out to do!!
I only posted on social media 12x in February (I’m not sure about stories, I don’t think I did #TendingListTuesday but maybe once). I feel like this is a hard place because I want to put out content I like and feel is truly helpful versus just posting to post. 12 days out of 28 isn’t superb and I can’t say my engagement or follower count grew, and although follower count isn’t my end goal, tbh, I can still do better. I’ve already posted 3/5 days this month so that is a start!
Daily Business Hour
Recently I shared on Instagram that I was trying a new way to track my Daily Business Hour. I still put what I want to do in my planner/DBH worksheet and check it off in my Powersheets, but I am also using a Google Spreadsheet and Toggl to track my time and what I actually did during that time. Here’s a screenshot
The reason I’m doing this so I can track the results a little bit better. In three months I’ll be able to go back to my spreadsheet and see the impact of each task. You can see I didn’t fill it in for two weeks, but since I track a lot of stuff in my Toggl, I can go back and fill it in.
Problems
On Feb 13th we decided to start looking for a temporary space to lease for the bridal shop and we signed a lease on the 19th. This meant most of that week was spent cleaning and setting up the new shop. I opened the shop on the 26th and didn’t have WiFi until the 28th. This meant that I had lots of friends and family pop in throughout the week and when I did have downtime, I didn’t have any internet to get work done. I did make sure all my client work was completed as far out as possible and then worked on client stuff Thurs and Fri after getting internet.
I am still working on finding my new routine for balancing my work and client work with walk-ins at the shop, but I think it is starting to balance out!
I would love to hear what you accomplished in February and what goals you may have for March as well. Drop a comment below!
