2017: November Recap + December Goals | The Social Walker Agency

November Recap

I went to Spain last month and ended up focusing more on client work. I'll go over this a bit more in December, but I'm celebrating all the little progress along the way!

Content Strategy Through January

I should have said content strategy FOR January! If you can't tell I've been a bit quiet here on the blog. Instead of trying to throw stuff together for the end of November and December, I decided to get back to being active on social but really start planning for January instead of December.

Client Work Through Trip (by November 9th)

It was SOO great to take a trip and not worry about client work or emails. It was a weekend trip, but there are a few tasks that typically end up on a Sunday night. But not this month! My clients and I have been working really hard to not work on the weekends. Stay tuned for how this will play out in 2018!

Weekly

*I'm took my goal back down to prepping 1 content per category per week to give myself some breathing room and some grace for not getting it done last month.

Write 1 Brief every Friday - I need to stop putting a hard deadline on this, but the main goal is to send a Social Brief every Monday. Friday was the day I deemed to write it, but sometimes that just doesn't work. Instead, for December, I'm moving it to a "Business Hour" task and doing it when I have time but in time for it to get sent on Mondays.

Write 1 Blog -  did NOT happen. And I'm really okay with that.

Record 1 Video - again, this didn't happen, but I'm in Trena's YouTube Bootcamp, and have Jess of Easy Peasy Studio on contract for editing 4 videos a month starting back in January. So you can bet these will be back in 2018!

Daily

My Business Hour

I started calling my "laundry list" my 'Daily Business Hour" because I truly believe if you spend at least one hour a day on your own business, you'll see so many items checked off your to-do list AND you'll see the growth you've been waiting for.  I can't say I've done this everyday, but I'm trying to track it better in December. This is the time I (will) write blogs and briefs, record videos, create graphics, and schedule everything. In three months, I'll be thanking myself for setting aside this time.

2017: November Recap & December Goals | The Social Walker Agency

December Goals

Our old football coach at the University of Georgia, Mark Richt, always said "Finish the Drill". He taught the players to finish each drill fully and completely. Don't stop short and stroll through the finish line, run through it. And that's what I want to do in December. Finish well. Most of my clients are taking half of the month off so that allows me to focus on my business and get ready for 2018.

Focus on My Business

YouTube Bootcamp
I'm in Trena's group and have put it on the back burner for a few weeks. But I'm so excited to have some time to dive in this month and get some videos recorded early.
Content Planning
I'm going back to using themes in 2018, and I want to have 1 blog and video per week. Taking the time to map this out in December hopefully will allow me to be ahead going into January. I'd love to get my own content one month ahead but right now, haha, it's definitely not.

Collaborations

I've got 2 big and exciting collaborations starting in January and I've got some work to do for them. I want to pull my weight in these collabs to help them be as successful as possible. One of them involves videos and Powersheets so if you're into those, let me know and I'll keep you updated!

Weekly

These will pretty much stay the same month to month, but this is my place to keep track and be honest with you!

Write 1 Brief / Send on Mondays

Write 1 Blog for January

Record 1 Video  for January

Schedule Social Media for a week

Posting to Social Media

I know some of these goals are very repetitive, but these things are crucial to my business growing. If I don't do them every day or week, it is NOT the end of the world, but writing them down and doing them as much as I can will propel my business forward. Don't believe me? Keep following along in 2018. I want to start doing more results focused blogs and maybe even stat & conversion reports so you can see how these things truly impact my business.

I'd love to read your goal setting blogs! Link them below so I can follow along!
